New Year's Resolutions -- Cooking, Lifestle, and Makeup

I'm normally not one for making resolutions. In the past three years. I've had all of two resolutions. Don't eat fast food (hamburgers at first, and then just everything). Build up a spice collection!

I very rarely eat fast food as it is, so just completely cutting it out was quite easy. Fast food in my definition is McDonald's, Taco Bell, KFC, Wendy's, Burger King, etc. I also wanted to cook more often. Last year, it was my second year living on my own. I wasn't able to really afford that much the first year, so we did a lot of eating out. This past year was different. I worked a lot and made enough money to start building up a spice collection. I went from having salt, pepper, garlic and onion powder to having things like garam masala, turmeric, paprika, and even being able to create my own spice mixes for dry rubs!

So! This year I want to create types of resolutions for the New Year.

Breads!

I want to make more breads. I have made Challah bread, I've made cinnamon rolls, I've made biscuits. But, they're not perfect yet! They don't have that awesome texture that fresh breads should have. The biscuits re good; they could be better. Cinnamon rolls are good with taste, but somewhat hard and not as springy and doughy as ... say Cinnabon for instance. I want to practice baking!

On a monthly goal, for my boyfriend and I, we should only spend up to 300$ on groceries. I love cooking, but that means I constantly go to the grocery store. Luckily, we don't spend very much on spices and seasonings anymore since I have pretty much all of them, but we buy a lot of fresh produce and we sometimes splurge on meat. I think I'd like to start having a weekly list of food to make so that we can keep track of it a bit better.

Lose weight!

I've gained a little more than I like. While I'm still at a comfortable weight, (135 on a 5'3'' figure), I'd like to be down at 120. I've been on Myfitnesspal (if any of you would like to join me!) and tracking everything again.

This is a typical resolution, but the first time I've decided to do something like it.

With this resolution, I'll add yoga!

I love yoga. I started in September, and it was like my entire body became limber again. I used to do gymnastics as a youngin' and now that I've picked this up, it's like my body is remembering what it's like to be stretchy again!

It's such a wonderful exercise. I've been doing vinyasa, but if any of you are looking for something just simply inspirational, I recommend Meghan Currie!

She's my favourite to watch! I wish I could do inversions like her!!

Finally, beauty and healthcare!

Makeup time!

For this next year, I would like to learn how to properly apply foundation to create a natural dewy look. I also want to create more dramatic looks. Those super pretty light to smokey eyes. I'm getting better at it slowly. I've been learning how to use my blending brush properly and it's an amazing difference!

I think I might be getting MAC brushes for Christmas, including the 217!!! So that'll give me better brushes to practice with.

I'm also hoping to make rouge this next year. I'm very close to it this year, but with the holidays and in the middle of switching jobs/training with the new job, I just don't have the money to get that final push to get it!

Finally, this upcoming year, I will graduate college. So that's a step of life that is just amazing to being so close to. This year has been amazing to me, and I hope that it continues this way.

Resolutions mentioned:

1. Practice making bread
2. Start a weekly list of food to make
3. Spend less than 300$ on groceries
4. Lose weight!
5. Do more yoga! :)
6. Practice more makeup!!! :)
7. Get Sephora Rouge, maybe?? :)
